‘Female Icons of Latin America’ at The 1901 Arts Club, London SE1 Wednesday, 9 November 2022 at 7.30pm

Clara Rodríguez, the much-loved Venezuelan pianist returns to London, to present a programme of music by women composers from Venezuela, Peru, Mexico, and Chile.

Clara is often described as an ambassador of Latin-American piano music. She began championing women composers such as Teresa Carreño, Luisa Elena Paesano, Maria Luisa Escobar, Modesta Bor years before it became fashionable to do so.

This programme features works either penned or arranged by women, including beloved popular Latin American standards by female Latin American icons such as Violeta Parra and Chabuca Granda, alongside classical pieces such as the Danzón No. 2 by Arturo Márquez, and the world premiere of Élegos by fellow Venezuelan, Diana Arismendi.

Clara will also introduce special guests, the rising stars Nina Rivas on the cello, and Leonardo Muller-Rodriguez (AKA Manukapp) on electric bass.

Book Now!

Tickets are £30 and £25 with a concession of £20 for early bookers (by October 26).

Tickets include a glass of wine.
