Few people remember that it was Panama, not Puerto Rico or Colombia or Miami, that was producing Reggaeton back in the 90s, when nobody had heard of the genre. Then the Puerto Ricans took over, then the Colombians became the superstars.

Now Panama finally has its rightful place back on the global Reggaeton map with this new, fresh, voice. Born in Panama (1993), Carlos Isaías Morales Williams, better known as Sech has been skyrocketing onto the Urban Latin scene since he self-released his first song in 2017 Miss Lonely, which rapidly became a viral hit in Colombia. Following the song’s success, he was approached by fellow Panamanian, music producer Dimelo Flow, who signed him to his record label Rich Music, and has managed his career ever since.

Although his journey to stardom hasn’t been a piece of cake as per se, Sech has proven himself an all-rounder, deserving of rubbing shoulders with Urbano’s top hitmakers, with his versatile talent. His smooth vocals and soulful tone have added a refreshing sound to a genre which has mainly been defined by sexually charged lyrics and hard-hitting rhythms.

Growing up in between his homeland Panama and the US, Sech was influenced in his teen years by American R&B which would later become apparent in his music. Like many R&B artists, the Panamanian developed his vocals at his local church choir, learning how to play instruments like the piano, guitar, and bass. Not only did he learn how to sing but write, produce, and rap. He spent his adolescence writing love poems; poems that explain his romantic and positive vibes style. Now, influenced by his multi-cultural upbringing, Sech’s style is a fusion of dancehall, reggaeton and R&B.

But it hasn’t always been a straight line to success, before becoming a rising Latin pop star the 26-year-old Urbano soul singer juggled in between construction jobs and as a street vendor to produce his music independently. Influenced musically by fellow compatriot El General, his music career started off when he joined Panamanian production group El Combo de Oro. In 2015 he made his first single/video El Kabreo de Tu Pollo, ft. Robinho, Mr Fox, Rd Maravilla & Phantom. And in November of that year, he released "El Grammy" video single (featuring Robinho and El Blopa). After his 2017 hit single Miss Lonely, he released a remix featuring Justin Quiles and De La Ghetto the following year (2018) which was as successful as the original version.

Last year Sech released his first debut studio album Suenos which reached #3 on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart. Undoubtedly, it was his single Otro Trago (ft. Darrell) which became the song of the summer ‘19, and his first diamond certified track. Peaking at number one on the Hot Latin Songs Chart, Latin Streaming Songs and Latin Digital Song Sales charts the song he says, was a life-changer. Since then some of his major hits include "¡Que Más Pues!" featuring Justin Quiles which reached over 63 million views in its first three months, Ignorantes ft. Bad Bunny, Sigues Con El ft. Arcangel as well as his participation in The Avengers Album featuring other artists such as Justin Quiles, Dalex, Feid, Lenny Tavarez.

This year the young urban singer had nine entries including for the Artist of the Year category at the 2020 Billboard Latin Music Awards. Earlier on this month, four songs of his upcoming album were leaked onto social media, which he then released on his platforms. Often portrayed by a teddy bear in his lyric videos, the Panamian makes justice to his cartoon character in real life with his romantic yet sensual flow.
