Widely regarded around the world as one of Fado music’s fastest rising stars, Portuguese singer Sara Correia’s profile has continued to rise sharply this year following the release of her acclaimed third studio album Liberdade along with her appearances as a judge on the hugely popular Portuguese version of reality singing competition The Voice.

Inhabiting the space between traditional, dark fado and its modern, lighter incarnation, Sara's mellifluous toplines are influenced by French chanson.

Having made her much-talked-about UK debut at La Linea Festival last year, the Latin Grammy nominee makes a welcome return to the capital.

“Occasionally, a new voice reminds us that traditional Fado is still very much alive…Sara Correia is such a voice.”
Songlines

“Her husky alto-contralto voice still projects the intensity of the roots of the music she grew up listening to”
