Classical guitarist Plínio Fernandes has started to gain attention for his virtuosic skill and range of repertoire that crosses traditions and continents.
Born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil, Plínio takes his inspiration from a long line of greats - Antônio Carlos Jobim, Milton Nascimento, Jacob do Bandolim, Violeta Parra, Edu Lobo, Cartola and Laurindo Almeida - the guitar being so central to the Brazilian folk tradition.

Graduating in 2020 mid-global pandemic, Plínio recorded and released his debut album, ‘Saudade' in 2022, which has already reached 8.2 million streams worldwide across all streaming platforms and has reached listeners around the world, received 5 * performance review in BBC Music Magazine and topped the Billboard Traditional Classical Album Charts.
Plínio was also selected as one of Classic FM's rising stars for 2022 and listed as their '30 under 30' to watch
