Renowned Spanish singer-songwriter Mikel Izal, a defining voice in Spain’s contemporary music scene, will perform live at Scala in London on Sunday, 16th February. Best known for his work with the celebrated band IZAL, Mikel Izal has become one of Spain’s most influential and beloved musical talents. This concert offers fans a unique opportunity to witness his captivating artistry up close.
Mikel Izal’s musical journey began at 24 when he moved to Madrid and quickly rose to prominence in the singer-songwriter circuit, earning accolades such as the Young Creators Contest of the Community of Madrid. In 2010, he co-founded IZAL with Alberto Pérez, Iván Mella, Alejandro Jordá, and Emanuel Pérez, propelling the band to the forefront of Spain’s pop-rock scene. Their albums, including Copacabana (2015), Autoterapia (2018), and Hogar (2021), earned gold and platinum certifications, and their tours became massive, headlining events at arenas and festivals across Spain.
As a composer, Mikel Izal has penned some of Spain’s most cherished anthems, including “La mujer de verde,” “Qué bien,” “El baile,” “Copacabana,” “Little great revolution,” and “Pausa.” Beyond his work with IZAL, he has created songs for other legendary artists, including "Infinitos bailes" for Raphael, and composed the centenary anthem for Deportivo Alavés football club in 2020.
In 2023, Mikel Izal began a new chapter as a solo artist with the release of his critically acclaimed album El miedo y el paraíso. This London concert is part of his international tour, showcasing his deeply personal and innovative sound while continuing to captivate audiences worldwide.
