Drexler’s unique voice, coupled with a knack for lovely melodies and lyrics of unusual depth, gained him international recognition in 2005 when he won an Oscar for Al Otro Lado Del Rio the song that he wrote for the film The Motorcycle Diaries.

The Uruguayan singer-songwriters album Tinta Y Tiempo garnered seven Latin GRAMMYs in 2022. Anchored on his trademark poetic cosmo-vision and quirky wordplay, Drexler’s sweeping, cinematic new album focuses on nature’s invention of love as a survival mechanism. Recorded with special guest artists Ruben Blades, C. Tangana, Naga Erez and Martin Buscaglia, Drexler’s voice is both amplified and boosted by exquisite orchestral arrangements, creating a sophisticated songbook, capable of evoking vulnerability, hope and wistfulness in a single verse

‘One of the most whimsical and free-spirited albums of his 30-year career. Boasting his trademark elusive melodies and wistful wordplay, Tinta y Tiempo is anchored by gorgeous orchestral arrangements and lovely guest spots.’ Rolling Stone

Tinta y Tiempo is Drexler’s 14th studio album in a recording career filled with richly poetic, ingeniously constructed songs, delivered with amiable understatement.’ New York Times
