Trombonist, composer and producer, Joabe Reis is one of the most important artists of the new Brazilian instrumental jazz scene. 

After several years collaborating with great artists such as Ivan Lins, Bob Mintzer, Hermeto Pascoal, Hamilton de Holanda and Roberto Menescal, he started his solo journey in 2020 with the album Crew In Church – released to critical acclaim – the album featured Toninho Horta, Nelson Ayres and New York trombonist Elliot Mason, a member of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra.

A double-winner of scholarships from the Latin Grammys Foundation, Joabe reveres jazz, and is also highly influenced by other genres including hip-hop, neo-soul, funk and pop. Joabe was invited by Macy Gray to play on her tour in Brazil with four sold-out shows at Blue Note in Sao Paulo, and Rock in Rio. Consolidating himself as an artist who transits between jazz and pop, in the very same month he was invited by Toninho Horta to a show in honour of Raul e Souza. 

Joabe Reis’ new album, 028, was just released, featuring new important collaborations such as Bob Mintzer and Gabriel Grossi.
