Professional tango partners. Privately, a couple. Until five minutes before their big performance.
Backstage, Roxana decides to break up with Mateo. She accuses him of cheating. Mateo, of course, denies it.
Then they’re called onto the stage.
Their dance does not go well, to say the least. But someone in the audience sees something extraordinary in the disaster: Gianpiero, the self-proclaimed greatest theatre director of the millennium and allegedly a descendant of Julius Caesar.
He invites the dancers to separate private meetings and manipulates them into starring in his greatest masterpiece—the likes of which the world has yet to see.
Welcome to "The Swan, the Werewolf and Gianpiero" a dark comedy about a tango couple caught in a world of mistrust, big egos and conflicting desires.
Meet the personalities behind the chaos
Roxana
A brilliant Russian tango dancer. Short-tempered, proud and, underneath it all, someone who just wants to be loved.
Mateo
Argentine, charming and handsome. Has an old enemy called Juan—and a weakness for the ladies.
Gianpiero — the genius, according to Gianpiero
The greatest theatre director of the millennium. A descendant of Julius Caesar. At least, that’s what he tells everyone. He gets what he wants, at any cost.
Written by Agata Nielsen, a Polish-British actress and tango dancer, the play draws on her years in the tango world and all the delicious drama she observed along the way.
Be prepared for a night of laughter, drama and absurd situations these dancers have thrown themselves into. Or perhaps Gianpiero created them...
