Aterciopelados returns to London to celebrate 30 years since the release of one of "The 50 Best Latin American Rock Album" at No3 by Rolling Stone Magazine, La pipa de la paz.

2026 arrives with horses of fire, and Aterciopelados presents their new show La Pipa de la Paz – 30th Anniversary, a celebration of one of the most influential albums in Latin American rock, originally nominated for the Grammy Awards in 1998 and produced by the legendary Phil Manzanera (Roxy Music).

Today, more than ever, it is necessary to call upon humanity to light the peace pipe: to ignite dialogue, listening, and respect for the Earth and for one another. La Pipa de la Paz is our call to reconcile differences, an expression of life’s urgency, an invocation to calm the spirits and to rebuild our relationship with the planet.

The 2026 versions of defining songs such as Baracunatana, No Necesito, Te Juro Que No, Quemarropa, La Culpable, La Pipa de la Paz, along with the essential and explosive Cosita Seria and Expreso Amazonia, announce a show of intense soundscapes and rhythms, striking vocal contrasts, deep bass lines, and guitars that slice through reality with velvet magic. A section of boleros, keyboards, and arrangements designed for international festivals, theatres, and

arenas brings the album’s most powerful songs to life with a vigorous and dynamic stage production.

This anniversary coincides with a moment of expansion and consolidation for the band, reaffirming their independent stance and their energetic, playful, and critical vision in the face of hegemonic systems. After intense touring, actions, and recognition throughout 2025—and following a profound battle with powerful uncertainties—Aterciopelados returns with the urgency imposed by their commitment to creative force.

Driven by causes that demand the defence of the environment and a firm rejection of gender-based violence, Aterciopelados continues to expand and solidify their influence and presence across festivals, international awards such as the Grammy Awards (2026), and essential stages around the world that call for their voice and coherence. The band stands firmly as a visionary force in contemporary Latin American music.

Don't miss the legendary Aterciopelados on Sunday, 4th October at the Islington Assembly Hall, London.
