Over 50 years of trajectory and more than 30 albums, la Sonora Ponceña is a Salsa institution. Led by piano virtuoso Papo Lucca, the legendary Puerto Rican orchestra has been also the home of some of the best Salsa singers from Puerto Rico, such as Luisito Carrion, Yolanda Rivera, Luigi Texidor, Tito Gomez and many more. Today we pay homage to this Latin music institution, with 10 extraordinary songs that show off its reputation for rythmn, flavour, great melodies and musical excellence, not least the unforgettable and unmistakable solos of Maestro Papo Lucca himself that helped give the band its trademark.
