Tini and Maria Becerra – Hasta Que Me Enamoro
The Argentinian female power duo have linked up again, this time for Maria’s upcoming project. The instrumental is moodier than that of their 2021 release ‘Miénteme’ and sees the pair admitting “Voy a equivocarme, vos vas a soltarme” over a tropical pop melody. However the envy from their past collaboration continues with Tini making sure to address, “Yo queriendo matarte y vos ya me habías matado”. This pair were already leading forces in the Latin music world when their first link up dropped but now four years on, it’s their popstar personas and maturity that take centre stage on this record.
Rauw Alejandro – Guban Sexxx
Alejandro has been keeping audiences anticipated with this new ‘Cosa Nuestra: Capitulo 0’ era with every single from the traditional ‘Carita Linda’ to the futuristic ‘Buenos Términos’, ‘Guban Sexxx’ combines the two. Underlying this whole club-heavy rhythm is a sample of worldwide recognised prayer ‘Santa María’, which Alejandro uses to interpret his current club situation where he’s falling for a very tempting woman as he reveals, “Diosa de mi caos, me di cuenta que no se puede huir”. The guitar outro is phenomenal and although it differs from the rest of the track, it’s a nice touch to the track.
Alejo – Puestopakpase
If you’re after a pure reggaeton instrumental look no further than this brand new release from Alejo. From the electronic intro to the 808-siren ending, Alejo’s new single has bold drums, synths and lust-focused lyrics, it’s genius. Temptation well and truly got the best of this act as he notes, “Y yo sabía que era una diabla desde que vi el fit”. He ends the track stating, “Pa' que cuando hablen de reggaetón / Tengan que hablar de nosotro'” and after this just under three-minute number it’s fair to say he’s allowed to make that claim.
Yami Safdie and Martin Cirio – Luis
Argentinian storyteller Yami Safdie invites Martín Cirio to join her on a folk-inspired single about an untrustworthy man named ‘Luis’. The chorus sees Yami swooning, “Inventa la película que quieras / Y píntame de cualquier color”, the vocalist takes this opportunity to show off how carefree she is in regards to the situation. Cirio adds a deeper tone to the track harmonising with the star as she lists some advice for this man, “Enfócate en tus cosas y en tu gente” ,continuing, “Ay, después me lo agradeces”. The accompanying video shows a butterfly covered Yami beaming from cheek to cheek as Cirio acts as ‘Luis’, it’s cute, entertaining and hilarious. Manuel Turizo – Mirame Ahora (Salud Mi Reina)
“Mira cómo está ahora” is how Turizo kicks off the chorus to this wholesome love crush-centred single as he tugs at our heartstrings and falls into all our soft spots. He professes the ways he shows his love, “Metiéndole el cora', hablando por horas” and “Dando besos porque sí”, this vocalist has won over all our hearts. The instrumental is simplistic but effective, featuring a guitar and a subtle drum pattern that allow the vocals to take the lead. Whoever his ‘Reina’ is, has to be one lucky lady, after all he can’t help but express, “Poco decir que me gustas bastante” ¡Que chimba!
Bonus Track:
Tokischa & La Mas Doll – Muxaxa
Distorted bass, chanting, addictive drums – it doesn’t get more Tokishca than this. The music video for this track perfectly encapsulates what this party banger was made for, living your best life, dancing with your friends and having no inhibitions. This very short single is a double Dominican crossover with the two ladies flexing on anyone who comes their way. The pair rap, “Si no hablan de ella', no suenan”, and once you take the lyrics in you’ll understand why, they really don’t hold back. The only downside is this song doesn’t even surpass two minutes, but you can always hit replay if you’ve not finished dancing yet. They end the track “Tán quedá” and I couldn’t have put it better myself.
