JANUARY
Bad Bunny – EL CLúB
Although it was released back in December, this single set the precedent for what was to come from the Puerto Rico powerhouse while simultaneously setting the bar high for Latin acts with their releases throughout the year. DeBí TiRAR MáS FOToS was one of Latin music lovers’ first taste of new music in 2025 and what a phenomenon it was and still is. A true piece of musical history, Benito wasn’t just creating memories with his music, he was introducing fragments of his country’s culture through each track.
FEBRUARY
Beéle, Westcol and Ovy On The Drums – La Plena
With Ovy only contributing to four songs on Karol G’s Tropicoqueta, that gave him a lot of spare time to drop hits with other reggaeton nobles. And that he did, dropping ‘La Plena’ back in February with help from another well-respected Colombian artist Beéle. This track went on to become one of the biggest hits of the year with Beéle’s career following suit selling out Movistar Arena in Bogotá seven times, with an eight date just getting announced. I guess his unique soul-inspired voice and “Gu-gu-gu-gu” tag he incorporates into most of his songs hasn’t just swooned us, it’s swooned the whole world too.
MARCH
Ca7riel & Paco Amoroso – Dumbai
Their hit ‘Re Forro’ garnered attention earlier in the year due to its transparent lyrics like “Siempre te voy a offender / No es mi culpa, es mi DNA”, but it’s ‘Dumbai’ which is featured here. Even though it might’ve dropped back in April last year, the pair performed this track on Tiny Desk and the live version features on the Hip-Hop duo’s 2025 LP Papota, we’re letting ourselves off the hook with this one. These Latin lads have many talents because as much as they love stirring up publicity, they also know how to cook up a storm in the studio and “Dum dum dum dum dum dumbai” is living proof of this.
APRIL
Emilia, Tini and Nicki Nicole – Blackout
What do you expect when three reggaetoneras team up for Argentinian all-star collaboration? If you guessed a ‘Blackout’, then you’d be correct. Emilia has been on a roll this year with ‘Bunda’ and ‘Pasarella’ but the sheer star power of this hit is undeniable. Her project Perfectas is exactly what is said on the tin, from its cookie-cutter pop hits with subtle nods and infusions of subgenres like drill, hyperpop and more. If she wasn’t on your radar after .MP3, this pop princess certainly is now.
MAY
Becky G and Manuel Turizo – Que Haces
Finishing her album trilogy last year, Becky G then decided to set her sights on the filmmaking world with her self-titled documentary Rebbeca releasing this month. She also made sure to keep fans well-fed, dropping the cute single ‘Que Haces’ with Manuel Turizo. This relationship-focused anthem saw the two take to the stage earlier this summer at the American Music Awards where they shared a flirty moment or two, enough to send social media into a frenzy over their relationship status. Becky G has kept all eyes on her all year with two surprise Coachella performances, brand deals and a Jennifer Hudson interview.
JUNE
Karol G – Bandida Entrenada
If Mañana Será Bonito saw Karol G taking on the position of a global figurehead, Tropicoqueta envisaged the Colombian star as a history teacher, exposing listeners to all genres and forms of Latin music spanning decades. From her São Paulo Halftime Show to performing and walking the Victoria Secret Fashion Show, 2025 has added even more achievements to Karol G’s popstar CV. This album is packed with gems from the bilingual ‘Papasito’, Eddy Lover-credited ‘Dile Luna’, Mariah Angeliq-labelled ‘FKN Movie’ and lovestruck ‘Verano Rosa’ with beau Feid. Just when you think La Bichota has reached the top, she redefines and climbs even higher.
JULY
Bad Gyal and Ozuna – La Última Noche
Whilst captivating crowds across Spain amidst her Bikini Badness Tour, Alba has managed to consistently release a flurry of hits in almost every month. From ‘Angelito’ to ‘Da Me’, ‘Comernos’ to ‘La Última Noche’, Bad Gyal is going to dominate airwaves regardless. Ozuna is heading into the new year with a similar attitude as he recently announced his latest album, a collaborative project with Beéle, and if the pair’s solo success is anything to go off, expect this album to command the first quarter of 2026. The grind doesn’t stop for Bad Gyal either as she was Harper’s Bazaar Spain’s latest cover star and dropped another single ‘Fuma’ .
AUGUST
Ludmilla and Victoria Monét – Cam Girl
MC Beyoncé, aka Ludmilla, dropped this Monét-featuring single back in August as a preview for her album Fragmentos, and it definitely set the tone for other features to expect on the record. The album had more of America’s finest female acts like Muni Long and Latto, as well as fellow Brazilian Luiza Sonza. This international collaboration is a testament to the success of Latin music and sounds infiltrating the radio waves and in turn, captivating audiences all over the globe. It's no surprise Ludmilla is championing this movement, being the first Afro-Latin American female to amass over 1 billion streams on a single song.
SEPTEMBER
Rauw Alejandro – GuabanSexxx
Already hooking us in with his fifth album Cosa Nuestra, which released near the end of last year, Alejandro was keeping his name firmly in the mix. He’s been wowing crowds across the globe on his tour of the same name and decided to impress us even more by releasing a deluxe edition and predecessor Capítulo 0. The project unarguably furthered Alejandro’s career to new heights and saw the Puerto Rican incorporating homegrown melodies and sounds, while still reminding fans why we love him so much with sprinkles of reggaeton throughout. The most prominent example being ‘Buenos Términos’.
OCTOBER
Shakira, Ed Sheeran and Beéle – Hips Don’t Lie
Almost a year into her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran Tour, Shakira celebrated a very special anniversary, 20 years of Oral Fixation Vol.1 and 2. To commemorate this milestone, the Latin pop icon called upon major music acts Ed Sheeran and Beéle who joined her for a rendition of the world-renowned classic ‘Hips Don’t Lie’. This current run of shows has been nothing but historic with each concert breaking a record of some sort including the most impressive at Mexico City’s Estadio GNP Seguros where she’s become the first female artist to host ten stadium shows in a single city.
NOVEMBER
Rosalía – La Perla
All I want for Christmas is tickets to Rosalía’s newly-announced LUX Tour which visits London on 5 May. Dropping the lead single ‘Berghain’ with the whole album following shortly after, Rosalía has become a talking point in the music sphere thanks to her heart-on-her-sleeve songwriting, 13 language spanning, classical-infused record LUX. Songs like ‘Sexo, violencia y llantas’ and ‘La porcelena’ are incredible but its ‘La Perla’ that’s really dialled things up. The project broke the record for most streams in a single day by a female Spanish-language artist and is adored by critics too. Brat summer? More like LUX winter.
DECEMBER
Maria Becerra – Jojo
Maria Becerra has explored many characters through her recent singles, the latest being ‘Jojo’ and “Ella sabe que está dura, y que nadie está a su altura”. Sus chicas on her project Quimera include Shanina, who you’ll recognise in the videos for ‘Ramen Para Dos’ and ‘Hasta Que Me Enamoro’, Maite from ‘Corazon Vacío’, Gladys can be found singing ‘7 Vidas’ while Maria herself fronts ‘Tatú’ amongst many more, and of course Jojo. Fans will be gearing up for Becerra and her alter egos as they take to one of Latin America’s biggest stages, Estadio River Plate ¡Buena suerte Maria!
