THE DECEMBER REGGAETON RECAP | 2025

What a year 2025 has been, but don’t wish it away too fast, there’s still a whole month of new music to digest from some of your favourite Latin stars. If you’re after a way to kickstart your new year, how about a brand-new artist who’s soon to become inescapable? One vocalist uses her song to reflect on the year she’s had while there's a US-Latin hip-hop link up that sees slang-filled lyrics and a genre-spanning instrumental. Two of Reggaeton’s biggest names bring us a second Christmas with a full album of hits as a Colombian act drops another huge anthem from her groundbreaking LP. This list is phenomenal.

THE DECEMBER REGGAETON RECAP | 2025

Nashy-Nashai – Buenos Aires

She’s followed by Yami Safdie, ROBI and has just released her club-pop city-titled single ‘Buenos Aires’, this is Nashy-Nashai. If you’re a fan of Young Miko, you’ll definitely be a fan of Nashy-Nashai. In this single she explains, “Si empiezo a tocarte, te juro me pierdo” and it’s all because of “Esta noche en Buenos Aires”. This song might only be two minutes long but if you’re wanting more just hit replay. Her bio calls her ‘tu popstar favorita’ and after listening to this catchy club anthem you will agree. Let’s hope for more new music next year.

Becky G – Hablamos Mañana

Produced by the legendary Di Genius, the instrumental of this Latin pop production feels very reminiscent of the legendary collaboration ‘Sin Pijama’. The chorus is blunt with Becky singing, “Bésame y hablamos mañana, vamos a mi habitación” and “Que esa historia ya me la sé, cállate y bésame”. It’s clear that she’s ending the year high by putting herself first. The video for ‘Hablamos Mañana’ shows her career highlights of 2025 including Coachella, her film premiere, various red carpets and award shows. It’s clear she’s on the right trajectory including clips of her hanging out with music royalty, Karol G, at Disneyworld – Definitely not jealous.

Ice Spice and Tokischa – Thootie

Puerto Plata meets The Bronx as US viral rapper Ice Spice and Dominican artist Tokischa link up. This Spanglish single is undeniably catchy as the pair take it in turns to find as many words as they can to rhyme with the NYC slang ‘Thoothie’. Toki even harks back to a previous collaboration with another notable musician Rosalía as she mentions, “Salgo de noche en la combi Versace”. Spice incorporates even more slang as she says, “I get money, me gustan los Chucky”. If you’re after the recipe for this song’s instrumental it’s a good measure of dembow with a generous pour of Bronx-drill.

Karol G – Ivonny Bonita

To those who remember when ‘Ivonny Bonita’ was just a caption on an Instagram post during the fruition of Tropicqueta claim your ticket now. This phrase has taken on a new life with the help of mastermind music producer Pharrell, ‘Si Antes Te Huberia Conocido’ producer Édgar Barrera and La Bichota. This track merges bachata and murky synths with lines like “Ella es un escándalo / Ella te quita el oxígeno”  – It’s no wonder she chose to perform this at Victoria secret Fashion Show. Karol has ended the year with a mesmering single and there’s no doubt 2026 will see the release of many more,

Ozuna and Beéle – Pikito

Christmas came twice this year as two of Reggaeton’s most influential musicians teamed up for collaborative project Stendhal and brought lots of new music including ‘Pikito’. The two chant “Te quiero robá un piquito” over a beat that is situated somewhere between tropi-pop and afrobeats. Beéle loves a reference and this track is no different as he sings, “Comenzar una aventura, de este mundo hasta Zathura” while Ozuna admits, “Ya tengo bien planeá' la escena, hoy yo me vo'a robar mi nena”. The two are enthralled with their love interests and it seems the whole album follows this story with tracks like ‘Innombrable’ and ‘Cookie’.

Bonus Track:

Bad Gyal – La Fuma

It’s impossible not to talk about Alba, a.k.a Bad Gyal, because she just won’t stop releasing back-to-back bangers this year. This sharp-electronic sounding single is no different as it begins with girl power lyrics like, “Trae de España lo que quiere fumar / No te lo pasa, no lo rota, no lo rula”. This Catalan act made history along with Young Miko and Toki performing ‘Chulo Pt. 2’ live for the first time ever and she’ll probably make history once more with her upcoming LP Sensualidad Sublime.  Alba loves sharing music but if you’re after any of  ‘La Fuma’ be sure to bring your own.
