Davido (ft. Becky G) – Tek
From sharing the Coachella stage with fellow superstar Tyla, partnering with Uber, sampling pizza with her Postmates campaign or announcing her self-titled short film 'Rebbeca', right now it's Becky G's world and we're all just living in it. Gomez is still persistent to her craft, lending her vocals to a track on Davido's fifth album, '5ive' on the dance-inducing 'Tek'. This may be her first time working on a song with the Afro-fusion artist but she definitely doesn't mess around stating, "Pertenezco a tu cama". The saxophone which introduces the song and weaves throughout is a nice touch too.
Pablo Vittar, Nathy Peluso – Fantasía
This link-up has the same drama and passion as any classic telenovela with Peluso bluntly starting, "Sé tus secretos y conozco tu mirada". This opener brings an underlying bass with it and as the chorus hits so does the melodramatic instrumental, which has you on edge. The two go back and forth debating "Yo tu fantasía, tú mi rebeldía". Nathy's intonation on "Todo el día te deseo y a la noche te respiro agitada / Yo te juro que te pienso como una loca apasionada". Almost one year after Vittar's 'Alibi', this song fills that void. One word: Powerful.
Kenia OS & Anitta – En 4
Kenia prefaces the song opening "Si no te gusta, no me sigas", as this single is the definition of disruption. Just last year Brazilian queen Anitta was ready to "Bellaque-que-que-que-que-que-queo" and now she's upped her game demanding "Ponme un perreíto y te parto". Kenia is no different either reminding everyone to stay humble as she sings a smug "Knock-knock, ¿quién llegó? El perreíto", if we didn't already, we sure know who's in control. Sonically, 'En 4' is well-decorated with hotline beeps and Reggaeton drum patterns and more, while the music video sees the two stars and cast opt to bare-all. Cheeky.
Omar Courtz & Bad Gyal – Comernos
Alba is making sure her festival season setlist is freshened up working on some bold statements and unapologetic bangers, while teaming up with a host of Latin acts for 'Angelito', 'Orilla' and now 'Comernos'. Courtz wastes no time explaining, "Qué rica te ves desnúa', te quiero volver a ver". The pair may be hungry, but their appetites are very specific, as Bad Gyal admits "El acento bori me lo pone mojado". The chimes and strings add a subtle 90's and 00's feel to this modern perreo track and as soon as you press play, you've been transported straight to the club for almost four minutes.
Young Miko - Wassup
Miko's electronic stint kicking off this newest single might have you questioning "Is it 2010 all over again?". It instantly transports you to the Rap-EDM crossover of the 2010's (Think 'Low' by Flo Rida & T-Pain or 'Kiss Me Thru The Phone by Soulja Boy & Sammie). Then as soon as you get to grips with the musical time-travelling, the Puerto Rican chameleon comes in with a heavy beat declaring "¿Tiene' jeva o tiene' jevo? (Ey) / Si te cansas de él, mami, yo cojo el relevo". Fans of this act never know what to expect and 'Wassup' continues this.
Emilia, Luisa Sonza, Dennis – Motinha 2.0 (Remix)
Emilia is joining forces with Brazilian act Luísa Sonza, this time jumping on her song for a remix of 'Motinha 2.0', so technically now it's 'Motinha 3.0'? If the in-your-face drums didn't give away who produced this one, Sonza reminds you by shouting the ever-so-familiar tag "DENNIS, o brabo". The Argentinian leads the track and instantly makes things clear, "Esta noche a casa no vuelvo sozinha". Emilia and Luisa are no stranger to a massive instrumental and instead of hiding behind it they come out on top. Luisa doesn't shy away from tough questions either, "Tu não é o brabo?".
Rauw Alejandro – Carita Linda
Alejandro is the gift that keeps on giving, after dropping 'Cosa Nuestra' almost six months ago and currently mid-tour promoting this very project, he has kept us fed with newest single 'Carita Linda'. Delivering lines like "¿Por qué no nos vamos dе aquí? Es más, ¿por qué no nos vamo' a vivir / A una casita en la arena y nunca mudarnos de ahí? De ahí" Alejandro is bringing the role of the crooner back into mainstream Latin music. He also uses the instrumental as an opportunity to highlight his Puerto Rican heritage with the bold bomba sounds throughout, timeless.
