Acosta Danza, which was formed in 2015, is comprised of Acosta's handpicked group of 20 talented dancers who are capable of dancing everything from ballet to salsa and all the genres in-between. Although Acosta has officially retired from professional ballet, at 46 years of age he still commands the stage in this effortless new piece.

The audience is treated to 4 pieces which capture and engage the crowd. Starting with "Satori", produced by Raul Reinoso, which relates to the spiritual illumination in Zen Buddhism. This is done through various abstract scenes and a silky, interactive purple background.

Next up is "Paysage, Soudain, la nuit" by Pontus Lidberg, which was a personal favourite. It is Lidberg's take on traditional Cuban music and its African roots through a moving Rumba, which blended fast and slow paced tempos brilliantly.

Thirdly, "Faun" is Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui's interpretation of L'Apres-midi d'un faune and boasts an outstanding duo performance from two of the troupe's most talented dancers.

Lastly, "Rooster" by Christopher Bruce is the visualisation of the 1960's and 70's chauvinistic young men's culture. Accompanied to a soundtrack of some of the most well-known hits from the Rolling Stones, this light-hearted piece does not fail to entertain. Nobody more so than Acosta, who makes an appearance and dances his way into the audience's heart once again, receiving a standing ovation from many of the crowd.

The variety of sounds and dances allows the troupe to exhibit a range of emotions ranging from mystery to comedy for the crowd to interpret. However, it is undeniable that Acosta does not fail to captivate with his moves and a smile that would be a shame to miss.
