In 2023 LatinoLife became the first Latina-run organisation to be awarded NPO status - National Portfolio Organisation - joining the likes of the Royal Shakespeare Company, Royal Opera House, Sadler’s Wells and Royal Philharmonic Orchestra as one of the UK Government's 'esteemed cultural institutions' recognised for delivering artistic excellence. With over two decades of influence, LatinoLife has built a reputation for producing quality events, including LatinoLife in the Park - Britain's largest Latin music festival - the LUKAS Awards, VIVA clubnights, incubators, and much much more.

LATINOLIFE IN THE PARK

LATINOLIFE IS THE UK'S LARGEST LATIN MUSIC FESTIVAL, taking place every summer in Walpole Park, London W5. Sundays stand for SABOR, the fully immersive Latin family experience that LatinoLife produced every Sunday at Vauxhall Garden. Indoors in winter and the roof opens in summer for a fiesta of street food, live music and dance performances and DJs. THE LUKAS

The LUKAS is Europe's prestigious Latin Entertainment Awards celebrating the growing global impact of Latin American, Spanish and Portuguese music, dance, arts and sport. Each year, the public votes online for outstanding Latin artists and sports personalities, culminating in the star-studded LUKAS Awards Ceremony, broadcast from London and featuring celebrities and athletes from the stage, stadiums and sports fields and international performers such as Manuel Turizo, Gente de Zona and Grupo Niche, who perform at an intimate setting at our exclusive awards ceremony.  www.thelukas.co.uk

THE LATINOLIFE INCUBATORS

LatinoLife's INCUBATORS are industry events for musicians, DJs, dancers, promoters, venues, labels, distributors, media and all those with a professional interest in the creation, promotion and distribution of Latin Music in the UK. These consist of panel discussions, networking sessions +  live music showcases - a chance for everyone with a passion for Latin music to get together, rub shoulders, make and activate big plans! THE LATINOLIFE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME

In May 2025, LatinoLife was selected as one of the PRS Foundation's first ever Latin Music Talent Development Partner. This prestigious award will help us advance the careers of some great Latin music creators, who still encounter barriers due to under and misrepresentation in a UK music and media industry. With their unique and exciting blend of Latin influences and diverse UK genres, UK Latin artists are ready to light up the global stage, and we’re so excited to be part of that journey. This year's development programme features @yxngdave @alvarezfunk_ @solaakingbola, whose work we showcased at SXSW London, Lambeth Country Show, Feira Preta (Brazil). We are currently accompanying Yxng Dave on a media tour and production camps in Colombia.

An essential part of our talent development programme is our monthly music concerts to showcase new, young or emerging UK Latin music to industry decision-makers, consumer tastemakers and the public. Check out previous showcases here 

THE CANDELA SOUND SYSTEM

The Candela Sound System is our touring show, bringing the best Latin talent to your festival or event. Have developed many artists over the years, we have an amazing roster of the best live music talent and DJs in the UK on our books to electrify our festival or event. For artist and DJ bookings 

THE LATINOLIFE MENTORING SCHEME

A major part of LatinoLife is out no-for-profit activity supporting the Latin arts industry and its artists at a grassroots level. LatinoLife has been mentoring young Latin creatives on an informal basis for 20 years, ever since we showcased the first UK Latin urban artists at our pioneering club nights at Ministry of Sound in 2005. With the support of the Arts Council, we have now launched a formal Mentoring Programme which supports 10 Latin American creatives every year, who have embarked on a career but need access, expertise and help to develop their work. LATINOLIFE'S OUTREACH PROGRAMME

Our outreach work feeds into our mentoring scheme by delving even deeper into the community, in disadvantaged areas to find the seeds of future talent at school age. Over the years, we've been taking inspiring Latin Americans into schools ahead of our summer festival for years. Graduates of our mentoring and development programmes are also involved in helping ignite and encourage the spark in future generations. For example, we took Guala into his old school in Tottenham, to give song writing workshops.  

LATINOLIFE FOUNDERS & DIRECTORS 

Amaranta Wright - Founder, Managing Director, Editor-in-Chief

Amaranta Wright is a journalist, author, magazine editor and social entrepreneur. Born in Buenos Aires, Amaranta Wright came to the UK from Argentina at the age of six, and grew up in North London. After reading Modern History at Oxford University, she returned to her birthplace and  became news correspondent for The Sunday Telegraph, San Francisco Chronicle, The Scotsman, and The Toronto Globe and Mail and was short-listed for The Jane Packenham Journalism award.

Amaranta then worked for Levi Strauss in a job that took her across Latin America researching youth culture. She wrote about her experience in a critically acclaimed book 'Ripped and Torn: Levi's, Latin America and The Blue Jean Dream' published by Random House, which is now being made into a film. In 2012 Amaranta founded LatinoLife – now the UK’s leading Latino lifestyle magazine in print (www.issuu.com/latinolife) and online www.latinolife.co.uk - before going on to launch all the media, events and music projects listed above.

Jose Luis Seijas – Head of Music and Events

Brought up on afro-Latin music and an avid salsa lover to this day (with a collection of over 3,000 salsa vinyls) Venezuelan born DJ and promoter Jose Luis went on to pioneer the reggaeton movement in Europe, since his arrival from Caracas 25 years ago. In 2004 Jose launched London’s first and most successful urban Latin clubnight - the now legendary 'La Bomba' at the Ministry of Sound (franchised in Ibiza, Germany, South Africa and Hong Kong). Over the last two decades Jose Luis has also directed many Latin festivals in the UK, such as Latin Splash, Carnaval del Pueblo and the Latin Stage at The Notting Hill Carnival. Currently he is musical director at 'LatinoLife in the Park' - the UK's largest Latin Music Festival - and programmes Latin stages at other major UK festivals such as Lambeth Country Show. He also runs the UK's biggest weekly reggaetón night, VIVA at London's Lightbox nightclub.

Jose also owns Candela Records, the UK's only label dedicated to urban Latin music and heads LatinoLife's Talent Development Programme - with the aim of supporting and developing homegrown Latin talent. As such, he runs LatinoLife's Incubators - industry events and camps for all those with a professional interest in the creation, promotion and distribution of Latin Music in the UK. Jose Luis holds degrees in Latin American Studies and Electronic Music Production and has written many music articles and interviews for UK media. Rooted in a deep love of Latin music, years of expertise and loyalty to his roots, Jose Luis is a central reference point for Britain's Latin community and the go-to person for the UK Music industry and media, when it comes to Latin music.
