WHO WE ARE

        Amaranta Wright, EDITOR

Argentine born Wright returned to Buenos Aires after reading History at Oxford University to edit a youth section for the Buenos Aires Herald. She became correspondent for The Sunday Telegraph, San Francisco Chronicle, The Scotsman, and The Toronto Globe and Mail among others and was short-listed for The Jane Packenham Journalism award. That was when Amaranta had her first 'Latinolife' vision, which she was recruited to realise by The Cisneros Television Group in Miami. However, Amaranta accepted a job offered by Levi Strauss that she couldn't refuse and which took her across Latin America researching youth culture. The result of this experience was her first book Ripped and Torn, which received critical acclaim. Amaranta then founded BULB – Britain’s first and only global issues youth magazine, a multiple award winner, including Best Newcomer in the Independent Press Awards (USA), 2nd place for Best Magazine Cover (Independent Press Association) and the Unltd. Award for Social Entrepreneurs (2005, 2006). After this she finally realised the dream of Latinolife.

Latin American restaurants and shops are springing up everywhere, salsa and tango classes abound, the Spanish and Portuguese language media is growing.
